The AIT-African Aquaculture Project, in collaboration with key partners, announces to host a Special Session at the upcoming African Aquaculture Safari 2025 Conference organized by the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) African Chapter in Entebbe, Uganda.

Aquaculture holds immense potential to transform food systems, livelihoods, and economic development across Sub-Saharan Africa. This session explores an integrated approach to resilient aquaculture—focusing on the genetic improvement of fish for higher yields and better body quality; innovations in culture environments, including feed, water, and health management; and the crucial role of people in driving change. We will highlight the importance of talent development, gender-responsive training, and inclusive participation to ensure that aquaculture growth is both sustainable and equitable.
